The one thing that really disappoints me on the consequences of the government shutdown is the fact that it really did damage to important issues in Congress, like gun reform and the immigration debate.

There really seemed to be momentum (more so for immigration) to get something done. But sadly, our elected officials felt it was more important to make a point by shutting government down.

When this mess gets resolved, let’s hope our Arizona Congressmen won’t forget that the people of Arizona are counting on them to solve our country’s immigration problems and keep guns out of the hands of dangerous individuals.
