I have been hearing a lot of partisan comments from folks on the left saying “not my president” when referring to President Trump. The partisan tenor of the comments like that will only help to further divide this country.
One of the things that held true for me and many others over the last eight years was this: We all may not have voted for Obama or agreed with his every word or every action, but he was “our” president, leading “our” country.

I’ve lost all respect for the fringe on both sides. They are the cancer that is feeding partisan division. They continue to promote fear, hate and biased rhetoric with the goal of delegitimizing the Trump presidency and further dividing this great nation.
The comments reflect the worst of America today. They are far from being representative of the great majority of people whose voice was heard last November 8. The tragedy is folks on the fringe, people like the Hollywood entertainers, the right and left coast media elites and the politicians who refused to participate in the inauguration, all have a firm grip on the left-wing media’s bully pulpit and are doing all they can to promote their agenda of fear, hate and division.
Donald J. Trump has been sworn in as “our” 45th POTUS. Obama was “our” president and I’m convinced that “real” Americans will also allow Trump to be “our” president. I’m a firm believer in free speech; it gives us all the ability to express who we are. I must say the fringe from both sides is doing an exemplary job of expressing exactly who they are.
