Overnight rain soaks Fountain Hills

Over a third of an inch causes street flooding

It was slow coming, but the promised rainfall soaked Fountain Hills overnight Tuesday with up to a half inch recorded in some places around town.

According to the National Weather Service Phoenix, the wet weather is expected to continue through Wednesday, prompting the Chamber of Commerce to cancel the Farmers’ Market on Avenue of the Fountains for the week.

The cold weather system is also having a significant impact on the temperatures. The daytime high temperatures forecast for the remainder of the week are in the 60s, with the overnight lows dipping to the upper 40s as the weather clears somewhat Thursday night.
