Own opinion

My husband and I own a home in North Heights. When I read the April 25 full-page ad of people and organizations supporting yes on the new property tax, I was quite shocked. Organizations supporting a yes vote included our North Heights Property Owners’ Association. We were in no way contacted about how we feel about the new property tax.

We received a “no reply” email from Don Doty, President of the NHPOA, on April 27 apologizing for listing NHPOA as an endorser of the tax. Apparently he decided to endorse this on his own.

Everyone has a right to their opinion, but please, Mr. Doty, don’t tell me what mine is. I voted no on the new property tax for reasons of my own. Also, many of our neighbors have a “Vote No” sign in their front yards.
