Ozone pollution advisory extended

The High Pollution Advisory for ozone has been extended by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality to include Friday, July 4.

High Pollution Advisory or HPA means the highest concentration of pollution may exceed the federal health standard. Active children, adults and people with lung disease such as asthma should reduce prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion.

During an ozone advisory people are asked to avoid unnecessary driving and refuel after 4 p.m. Those with respiratory ailments are encouraged to avoid prolonged exertion outdoors.
