Ozone pollution watch extended

The ozone pollution watch issued Arizona Department of Environmental Quality for today, Wednesday, July 30, has been extended to include Thursday, July 31.

The watch means that ozone pollution levels are expected to approach federal air quality standards.

Unusually sensitive people with respiratory problems should avoid prolonged exertion outdoors. ADEQ is anticipating that the watch may be ungraded to a high pollution advisory for Friday, Aug. 1, when ozone levels may exceed federal standards.
