The citizens of our great town voted to tax and bond themselves to acquire the 740-acre Fountain Hills Preserve. This Preserve, along with the existing six miles of trails, adds value and ambiance to all of the homes and properties in our town.
We now have the opportunity to increase the benefit of our Preserve with access through Adero Canyon with the proposed change (a Planned Area Development) that is being requested. The long planned access with a $1,700,000 trailhead building and parking area are within reach for all to enjoy.
The Town Council is scheduled to hear the proposed Planned Area Development on April 17, just a couple weeks away.

With approval of the PAD, the access road to the town’s Preserve is assured and the long planned and awaited construction of the trailhead can begin. The town has already collected the $1,700,000 for that construction, which will allow all to access the Preserve and take advantage of our gorgeous desert.
Some will be able to enjoy the gazebo by only walking several yards from their car while others will gain the benefits of walking to one of the many beautiful vistas in the Preserve along the existing trails.
We have the opportunity to enhance our town by assuring access by council’s passage of the proposed PAD. This opportunity may not come again in our lifetime. There are many reasons for passage of this change for the benefit of our town, but an obvious reason is the added access to the town’s largest and most expensive asset and a clear enhancement to our already beautiful town.
I encourage all to help the council realize the benefits of passing the Adero Canyon Planned Area Development.
