Palisades Center

It’s nice to see that one of Fountain Hills’ original business hotspots continues to thrive.

Originally known as the La Montana Shopping Center, the complex at the corner of La Montana and Palisades has been known as The Goodwill Center, the Palisades Business Center and, now, just The Palisades Center.

Back in 1974, the site was home to the original Bashas’ before the grocer moved across the street. It also housed one of the most popular bars in town, The Village Pub. A number of tenants have come and gone along that strip of commercial spaces, with the current occupants including Recycled Home, Brooklyn Bedding and the HD Asian Bistro.

According to owner Steve Cadwallader, the plaza continues to evolve to this day, with a potential new tenant set to shake things up a bit. Cadwallder is working to bring an AutoZone to the site, where it would potentially fill the retail space currently occupied by Recycled Home.

As for Recycled Home, it is planned to be the first tenant of a new free-standing building to go in the same lot, allowing the plaza to grow even further after more than 40 years of operation in Fountain Hills.

If all goes well, this project could be wrapped up by the start of 2018. Combine that with the other residential and commercial developments going on around town, and we’re optimistic that things are moving in a positive direction for Fountain Hills.
