Panorama paving restarts May 6 in Fountain Hills

Work on other two lanes

Posted

Construction crews will begin working on repaving Panorama Drive again Monday, May 6, and continue through Thursday, May 23. The road will be closed southbound from Saguaro Boulevard at the Palisades intersection at the north end to Saguaro Boulevard on the south end. Only northbound traffic traveling one way will be open.

Construction work hours will be between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The work schedule is proposed as follows.

*Milling- southbound, Monday May 6, at 7 a.m. Milling takes the asphalt layer and the subgrade layer off the roadway for a total of three to four inches of material.

*Grading- southbound will begin Wednesday May 8, at 7 a.m. Grading ensures there is a strong foundation and accounts for adequate waterflow on the new road surface.

*Paving is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, and Thursday, May 23 at 7 a.m.  Paving will require five to six hours to cure once it has been rolled. This date is flexible due to inclement weather and other unforeseen issues that may arise during construction.

Emergency (police and fire), recycling and trash services will not be impacted by construction. They will have access 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In the event of an emergency, contact 911.

Motorists must obey construction signs and the instructions of any work personnel on site.
