A new paradigm is necessary for success in the future of Fountain Hills.
This is a wake-up call to the Fountain Hills Town Council. The voters, for a fourth time, have rejected an imposition of a new tax in a landslide defeat.
Yet, seven members of the present town council saw fit to unanimously vote for the imposition of that new tax; not one member opposed.

The same old song-singing cadre of former mayors – in one voice, no less – extoled the new tax.
Both are yesterday’s old news. It is obvious both are out of step with voters.
Why has this divergence between voters and council occurred? One word: Arrogance. Wake up, town council. The words that should be contrasted with “your arrogance” are “your humility.”
To a new breed of council member, some ideas suggested in past letters to the editor may help.
A) A carillon music festival; engage with local religious and other community leaders.
B) Building a road-building department using the latest asphalt paving machines and robots, globally positioned and laser scanning controlled, a new town function.
C) Likewise, a new sanitation department and its billing, using a newly developed truck that picks up blue lid and brown lid at the same time, thus saving road mileage.
D) A new marshal’s plan. A department limited to no more than five persons for 10 years. This marshal’s plan could be the first big, successful enterprise and pick up $3-4 million per year almost instantly.
Certainly enlist the aid of former Save Our Town People, but change the name to “Our Town” to be inclusive of those no voters who love this town also.
