The benches on the walkway around Fountain Park have been seriously deteriorating for years. Some are rusted completely through, some are off their bolt-downs and several have already been removed.
Park maintenance personnel tell me that new benches are coming. They have been telling me that now for two and a half years.
The town seems to have enough funds for other projects (lights, signs, bulletin boards). Maybe the town’s policy is to wait until one of the benches collapse and someone gets seriously hurt. Then they’ll be able to defend not getting new benches because of the insurance settlement.

The citizens of Fountain Hills are now put on notice to be careful.
