Has anyone strolled around Fountain Park on the last two Sundays? I did with an out of town guest. I was horrified as we encountered people on bikes and skateboarders racing around the sidewalks in Fountain Park.

We passed groups of people camping out with extremely loud music blasting from boom boxes while they enjoyed alcohol in open glass bottles. Many had large grills and were openly cooking on the grass in the park.

The irony is that they were only a few feet from the sign in the park saying the Town Code 9-4-3 is strictly enforced. Where are the peace officers supposedly “strictly enforcing” the park rules? We need more sworn personnel in the park on weekends handing out violations. It might help to keep Fountain Park a safer, cleaner and quieter place for all of us.
