Park project

The proposed improvements for Fountain Park are short sighted.

What is needed is a sidewalk sweeper and an effort to use it at least twice a week to control the “slip and slide” conditions of the sidewalks. I love the birds, but they do make a mess of the walkways.

The fact that we continue to allow people to feed the bird population incurs a large number of geese and coots. Bird feces is detrimental to the health of children playing on the grass, especially near the playground.

If we are not going to ban feeding the bird population, and post signage, then we must make it a priority to keep the walkways clear for walkers.
