Park projects discussed at Fountain Hills council retreat

Possible next fiscal year

The Town Council listened to staff propose two park projects as part of the capital improvement discussion at its Feb. 27 planning retreat.

Public Works Director Justin Weldy discussed plans for improvement of the vacant open space along Panorama Drive near El Lago Boulevard. The site, a little more than 1.5 acres, was cleared of vegetation during the Panorama Wash drainage improvements. The site was left untouched after the drainage construction.

Weldy said the tentative proposal is to create a passive nature walk for the area to include a meandering walking path to include benches. Also included is landscaping with native biophilic trees and vegetation. A mulch-like ground cover would fill open spaces.
