Patience, perseverance leads to Fountain Hills ‘Awesomeness’

When heavy rain muddied the McDowell Mountain Elementary School upper athletic field in November, Kailey Good and school staff knew a reward event for students would have to wait.

“There are about seven huge inflatables and an obstacle course,” Good said. “This is our third year doing it and never had an issue with the weather before.”

Good was talking about the “Day of Awesomeness,” eventually held Dec. 17. That’s the name Good’s Fountain Hills Parent-Teacher Organization has for the reward day for its Step It Up fundraiser campaign.
