Patsy Jean Knoy, 94, of Fountain Hills died Saturday, May 4, at home. She had been in failing health for several weeks.
Mrs. Knoy was born Patsy Jean Hill in Dallas on May 28, 1924. She graduated from Highland Park High School in Dallas, and from Northwestern University, in Evanston, Ill. While at Northwestern she met Henry Schwartz of Bay City, Mich., and, after his overseas service in World War II, they married. They settled in Bay City and raised three children, all of whom survive. They are Carolyn Hill, of Denver; Nancy Schwartz, of Philadelphia; and Frederick Schwartz, of Mill Valley, Calif. Five grandchildren also survive.
Henry Schwartz died in 1989 and Patsy then married Ty Knoy. He also survives. The Knoys lived in Ann Arbor, Mich., for 25 years, wintering several of those years in Fountain Hills. In the last four years they lived year-around in Fountain Hills.
Mrs. Knoy was an accomplished pianist. She studied under Louis Nagel and Anton Nel in the University of Michigan School of Music. While in Bay City she was heavily involved in charity work. She was a long-time member of the Bay City Garden Club.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be at the Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church where a memorial service is to be on Wednesday, May 15, at 10 a.m. Patsy requested that memorial contributions go to the church.
