Run across America on crutches?

That is just what Jerry Traylor did. He also climbed Pikes Peak in Colorado and ran in many marathons, all on crutches due to cerebral palsy.

Traylor speaks around the world but chooses to call Fountain Hills his home.

He says, “Success is learning to control our limitations, rather than allowing those limitations to gain control over us.”

Club members said they appreciated Traylor sharing his special message and inspiring the organization.

Four Peaks Rotary Club’s leadership attended the annual president and president-elect training, this year held conveniently in Mesa.

More than 500 volunteers attended this leadership training, which was highlighted by keynote speakers that shared incredible accomplishments through Rotary service.

“We learned a great deal and look forward to having impactful and exciting programs that serve our members and our town,” said incoming club President Jay Schlum.

The group’s big fundraising golf tournament sold out.

Organizers are grateful to all the volunteers, golfers, prize and auction item donors and especially the sponsors.

Through their assistance and support the Four Peaks Rotary Charity Golf Tournament will be one of its most successful fundraisers ever.

“Because of your generosity and caring together we will enrich the lives of many youth in our community and other local organizations,” Schlum added.

“Is it time for you to get plugged into an organization that is respected and making a difference around the world? Consider the Four Peaks Rotary club. In January our club was awarded ‘Non-Profit of the Year’ by the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce.”

The club invites interested residents to attend its breakfast meeting on Thursday, March 26, from 6:50 to 8 a.m. at Fountain View Village on Avenue of the Fountains.
