Four Peaks Rotary Club President Bill Beamish, left, giving well wishes to exchange student Luisa Pintor.
Four Peaks Rotary Club recently recognized several exceptional high school students who are involved with the club and Rotary.
Among them was the local departing Brazilian exchange student, Luisa Pintor, and members of the Interact Club from the Desert Mountain High School (Four Peaks has sponsored this club for the past three years since the noon club was already sponsoring a similar club at the Boys and Girls Club in Fountain Hills).
Luisa shared her nine months of experiences while she was here, highlighted by being a member of the state high school championship Soccer team (one of the parting gifts presented to her was her own championship ring).

Four Peaks Rotary Club has been pleased to host both inbound and outbound Rotary Youth Exchange students over the years and officials are always looking for quality students and goodwill ambassadors who are willing to serve as young Rotary representatives for a year overseas.
If interested, contact one of the local Rotary clubs to learn more about the types of programs offered and the specific application process required. Because the selection and orientation process can be lengthy, officials suggest one applies 6-12 months before you plan to leave.
The members of the Interact Club were recognized for their contributions in volunteering and fundraising during the past year.
This past year they focused on polio, HEAL House (an organization that supports mothers with cancer), various animal shelter organizations and several others and also enjoyed participation in the local arts fairs trash pickup with the sponsoring Rotary club.
The club invites residents to check it out at www.fourpeaksrotary.org, or anyone interested in learning more about activities and meeting members to join them for a complimentary breakfast.
The club meets the second and fourth Thursday of every month, at 7 a.m., in the Grill at Eagle Mountain.
For further information, contact club President Bill Beamish at (480) 390-4130, azbeamish@msn.com.
