Four Peaks Women’s Club once again is feeling the spirit for the Children’s Cancer Network. As in previous years, the two committees, chaired by Joyce Stehlik, with co-chair, Barb Hansen, brought the ladies together to bring some happiness to the families who have children suffering from cancer.
The first group decorated 20 trees with love and best wishes. The second group spent a couple of hours in Target shopping for two separate families. They buy for the child with cancer and the parents and siblings.
When a family goes through this sad time, they do not have time to think of much else other than getting their child back home.

The Children’s Cancer Network supports Arizona children throughout their cancer journey with programs and services designed to provide financial assistance, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles and create an awareness of issues they face related to the childhood cancer.
The Four Peaks ladies hope to alleviate some of the anxiety this disease creates during the holidays.
Hansen, a cancer survivor, remarked, “Cancer in all its forms is so hard to deal with, but to have to watch a child go through it is truly beyond our total comprehension.”
Stehlik added, “These two projects exemplify what Four Peaks Women’s Club is all about – helping others with an enthusiasm that just knows no bounds. We all feel privileged to be a part of helping the Children’s Cancer Network.”
After each endeavor, Joyce and Barb treated the ladies to a luncheon at Stehlik’s home.
