The PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) of Fountain Hills invites the community to walk the red carpet and step into a Hollywood musical extravaganza and fashion show at We-Ko-Pa Casino Resort in Fort McDowell.

Sponsored by Classy Jazzy, “Hooray for Hollywood” is a fundraiser by the PEO-Chapter DZ of Fountain Hills planned for Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PEO is a nonprofit organization in the U.S. and Canada that has helped more than 125,000 women pursue educational goals by providing more than $432 million as of April 2024 in academic assistance, according to a press release.

PEO-Chapter DZ of Fountain Hills awards several local scholarships each year to senior high school women who reside in Fountain Hills.

According to the event coordinator Paula Plotkin, this glitzy, star-studded musical event is designed to excite and entice guests to bid on raffle and silent auction items and immerse themselves in glamorous fashions from Classy Jazzy.

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for guests to shop and bid on raffle and silent auction items. A cash bar will also be available.

After registration, guests will walk the red carpet, be greeted by a paparazzi photographer and be entertained by local musicians playing background piano music while shopping and dining.

Models will strut down the runway in a fast-moving musical production set to Hollywood music from motion pictures.

Plotkin says the PEO Chapter DZ is still recruiting program ads, sponsorships and auction items for its spring fashion show.

All contributions help to underwrite the cost of the event and raise money for scholarships, Plotkin said.

The deadline for businesses, organizations or individuals to sponsor the event or take out an ad for the program is Dec. 20, 2024.

Mail-in tickets

Tickets are available for $75 per person and can be purchased by making a check payable to PEO-Chapter DZ and sent to Connie Purinton, 11006 N. Ridgeview Court, Fountain Hills, AZ 85268. Include an email address at the bottom of the check for confirmation and indicate food allergies and a preference for a vegetarian meal. There are no refunds for this event. The deadline to purchase tickets is Feb. 1, 2025.
