After nearly 5 decades of being an artist, Dutch born Arthur Benjamins has decided to settle in Phoenix - of all places. From there his transatlantic move from Holland, Africa and Great Britain will herald a brand new phase in his life as an artist where he depicted many subjects as a painter.
He pioneered 'Photorealism' in the UK with his aviation and motor racing paintings and his 40 years living in London have seen him becoming one of the most well known artists depicting Motor racing and Land-and-water speed record breaking in the UK and beyond.
His originals and limited edition prints have been sold all over the world, his work appearing on various book covers, national UK television and in countless magazines and newspapers. Benjamins is also a movie 'extra', having appeared in UK television soaps, adverts, series and several Hollywood movies like "A Bunch Of Amateurs" with Burt Reynolds and "The Bourne Ultimatum" as a US senator. He plans to continue down that particular route again. He writes short stories and wrote & published his father's biography some years ago. He also designed a range of accessories for motorcycles.
Additionally, he pioneered another and brand new painting style called, "Abstract Iconography". He attended the 2013 and 2014 Arizona Fine Art Expos and the 2014 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale show.
Benjamins plans to attend many more shows in the future in various parts of the USA, making his trademark style accessible to a much wider range of viewers and enthusiasts.
