Phil and Judy

Friends packed the River of Time Museum last Wednesday evening to share stories about an exceptional lady who had touched their lives. Many spoke of Judy Confer’s qualities and the fun she brought into every situation.

When I stopped at Phil’s Filling Station to pay for the sandwiches that fed all the museum’s guests, Phil told me he couldn’t accept money from Judy. You see, Judy was a special friend of Phil’s, too, and we ate their together on many occasions as we planned museum events.

Phil has been a very special caterer to the museum for many years. He is easy to work with, full of ideas and suggestions and always the best value in town. Most notably, his annual donation of food to our Italian dinner fundraiser in August every year is a huge boost to the museum’s bottom line. On those occasions, he feeds approximately 300 people.

And the museum is not the only recipient of Phil’s generosity and commitment to this town and the people in it. On your next meal out, consider visiting Phil’s Filling Station. This is the kind of businessman we want to keep in Fountain Hills.

Thank you Phil for all you do – the little things and the huge things. You are one in a million.
