Last Friday morning my phone (i-phone7) started ringing at 8:40 a.m.  Since I was still asleep I did not answer.  It rang again at 8:42, 8:44, 8:46 - you get the picture.  When I got up and checked my phone I had about 40 calls/messages'.  They had come in approximately 2-4 minutes apart.  The number is now up to over 70.  I had just as many messages.  All the messages stated that they were sorry they missed my call and they were calling me back - OR, stop calling me you A-hole etc..  Most of the calls were from Maryland. Area codes 410 and 443.

 I returned some of the calls to tell the people I hadn't called them.  Obviously my phone number has been hijacked.  While speaking to the first few people, I don't remember how we got on the subject, I asked if their candidate had won the election.  I started asking each person I called back if they had voted for Biden - EVERYONE of them had.  Well, except one, but she told me she was registered as a Democrat.  I also discovered that everyone I spoke to was over 65 years old and retired.

I have no idea who is doing this, and since all who left me a message didn't actually answer the original call, I have no idea what the purpose of using my number is.

I contacted FCC and FTC and they kind of blew it off and told me to get a new number and change my incoming message.  I did that - 'My number has been hacked - sorry you're being bothered - it wasn't me' etc.  Since I changed the greeting the number of messages has dropped off significantly.  Only 2 today.

Anyway, thought it might be something you'd be interested in (or not) because of the election/Democrat/age/retired thing.
