Photo club resumes following summer hiatus

Now returning from its annual summer break, the August meeting of the Fountain Hills Photography Club will be held at the Fountain Hills Community Center on Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m., with all photographers, members and visitors welcome to come at 5.30 p.m. for an opportunity to gather, catch up and ask questions of the club’s experienced photographers.

Organizers said the club is of interest to all photographers; novices through experts; DLSR to smartphone owners and users of Lightroom, Photoshop and others software applications.

During the summer break, club members have worked to enhance the program with more emphasis on the popular and informative slideshow portion of the meeting where members submit several photographs explaining where and why they took the photographs, what they wanted to achieve and if they got the result they wanted – and if not, what the more experienced members would have done.

Explanations of the Lightroom and Photoshop apps through hands-on videos and YouTube clips will help member navigate their way through these applications.

The agenda for the meeting includes the following  (i) a member Slideshow evolving around the theme of “Happiness”, (ii) members submitting “My favorite Photo(s)” , (iii) a presentation on “Smart Phone Basics”, and (iv) “Working with Photographs”.  There will also be a brief discussion of What the Future Holds “, both for the Club and photography in general.
