Phyllis Goldie Peters, age 90, of Fountain Hills, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013. Phyllis was born on Feb. 13, 1923 in the small town of West Concord, Minn. to Lester George Meek and Goldie Olive Phoebe Chamberlin Meek.
Her son Steven, her parents and her eternal companion, Dr. Allan M. Peters, preceded her to heaven.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Gail Lundell (Don), Vickie Walters (Dean) and Michelle Hendon (Roy); 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and a great-great granddaughter.
Phyllis received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Arizona State University after her children were grown. She taught kindergarten and third grade for many years in Cartwright School District in Phoenix.
Phyllis and Allan were very active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints all of their lives and now live in eternity together.
Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 16, at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, at 11 a.m.
