Pickleball, a sport that has grown in popularity rapidly nationwide over the past two decades, was actually invented 60 years ago as a children’s backyard game.
Now it is played by all ages and is competitive at the recreational, tournament and now even a professional level.
For those who might not have been paying attention, pickleball is played with a small, smooth faced paddle using a plastic ball with holes – think Wiffleball between a baseball and softball in size. It is played as singles or doubles using a center net like tennis (shorter) on a court about the size of a badminton court.
