Late last week shade structure installers erected the covered area for the new picnic site in Fountain Park near the splash pad water play area.
The 55-foot by 60-foot shade canopy was installed over an area to cover a 21-table configuration. The project also includes landscaping and sidewalk connectivity to existing amenities. A timetable for that work is yet to be determined.
“The turf ‘dirt area’ between the splash pad and businesses at Plaza Fountainside has been an eyesore and a source of consistent complaints by both businesses and residents,” Community Services Director Kevin Snipes said.
