Pictographs

On Thursday, March 8, the Town of Fountain Hills Activity Center sponsored the presentation “Lines, Pictographs, Petroglyphs and Ancient Stones,” presented by Dr. Dennis Robertson at the Fountain Hills Community Center. Dr. Robertson gave an outstanding talk that was both educational and entertaining.

He discussed his four topics very efficiently and with great photos. From the pictographs of ancient peoples in the Grand Gallery in Horseshoe Canyon in Utah through examination of petroglyphs here in the Southwest United States, the famous Nazca Lines in Peru, and well-known rock monoliths such as Stonehenge in the United Kingdom, he provided a unique view into world-wide prehistory before written language.

He ended the presentation with a discussion and photos of the Allende meteorite, older than the earth itself by 300 million years. Thanks to Dr. Robertson and the Fountain Hills Activity Center for such a terrific event.
