September in Montana, wearing my pink shirt, I wander down the main street window shopping. The local Town Marshal steps outside his rustic, small office and asks if I’d speak with him a moment.
Uh-oh. Did he see me jaywalk?
“That man on your pink shirt is an icon. Don’t you wish you could meet him?”

Er, I have, lots of times. We’re neighbors, attend the same church and, on occasion, he gave me the OK to bring people downtown for a tour of his “Tent City.” I ended up filling three buses (50 people each). They were all delighted with the prospect of meeting the “Toughest Sheriff in the West” and touring his famous facility.
“You know, ma'am,” he went on, “I’ve been questioning President Trump’s ability to run the country but when I heard he had pardoned Sheriff Joe, I had my hopes soar. If I give you my address with a blank check, do you think he’d send me one? I’m an XL.”
