Baseball is back and that means it’s time for the Pitch, Hit & Run competition, presented by Scotts and Major League Baseball.

This event is geared toward boys and girls, ages seven to 14, to display their baseball and softball skills. The event is free.

The Town of Fountain Hills Community Services will host the local competition at Golden Eagle Park on April 8, just after Eggstravaganza.

Major League Baseball Pitch Hit & Run (PHR) is a one-day event and is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball.

Participants compete in either the Baseball Division or Softball Division and have the opportunity to advance through four levels of competition including Locals, Sectionals, Team Championships and the National Finals during MLB All-Star Week.

Participants may sign up online at fh.az.gov/recreation, or at Town Hall, Monday-Thursday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The town is seeking volunteers to shag balls, measure ball placement, time base runners and help with registration. Contact Bryan at 480-816-5132 or bbouk@fh.az.gov if interested.
