The Town of Fountain Hills will host the second round of the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run competition on Saturday, May 5, at Golden Eagle Park from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.
Ten of the town’s local champions will be competing at this competition. PHR is a free skills competition that provides boys and girls, ages 7-14, the opportunity to showcase their pitching, hitting and running abilities.
Divided into four age groups, youngsters are challenged to pitch strikes from 45 feet, hit off a stationary tee for distance and accuracy, and run a sprint from second base to home plate.

In each age group of the Sectional Competition, individual skill and overall champions are crowned and advance to the Team Championships Competition at Chase Field.
Team champions advance for the opportunity of a lifetime, a trip to the All-Star Game for the National Finals. There will also be a special guest appearance from former Major League Baseball slugger Rob Deer and Water and Ice will be on hand selling yummy treats.
Volunteers are needed for this event. Contact Bryan at bbouk@fh.az.gov for more information.
