The children’s playground located in Golden Eagle Park is closed for installation of new equipment through Friday, Feb. 23.

Work began Monday, Feb. 5, to remove the old equipment with installation of new apparatus to follow.

The Town Council approved the new equipment in December with a $90,000 cooperative purchase agreement with Kompan, Inc.

Community Services staff said they are pleased that, after 20 years of play, laughter and general use, it is able to install a new playground in Golden Eagle Park.

The playground for 5- to 12-year-old children will be closed for installation of a new climbing structure and other amenities. Staff will facilitate the removal of the old equipment and installation of the new. The sand surface will also be replaced with ADA compliant engineered wood fiber.

This section of the park will be closed for approximately three weeks.
