Plencner: The town and country voted for change

Fountain Hills will have a new Mayor, new council members Gayle Earle and Rick Watts. Mayor Friedel will have a strong majority on the council as new members are sworn in. Recall the mayor has a two-year term and council members serve four years.

Fountain Hills is no different than the country at large, voters were tired of the Democrats’ policies and decided to take a right turn electing Republicans from president on down. Locally, our Representative David Schweikert prevailed, our two Arizona House members won reelection, and Arizona State Senator John Kavanagh will continue to serve.

Change will be coming with the new council and mayor, just as it is in D.C. The country and our town voted with a loud voice for change and our leaders locally and nationally are committed to deliver those changes. These public servants are our neighbors and friends, they have nothing but the best interests of our town as their reason for serving. Please try to remember that when the hysterics from the left claim otherwise. Maybe we can all get back to enjoying our lovely community without the rancor of the past.
