This is written in response to the letter last week that criticized the Democrats’ Thanksgiving Parade float for “political propaganda.” Did the letter writer miss all of the flagrantly political GOP entries; many more than the one Democratic float?
The Dems’ float emphasized inclusion and had many joyful Dems spreading that message of acceptance and giving out candy.
In contrast, there was a “Mr. Trump Goes to Washington” float touting a man whose words and actions have offended many people throughout the political spectrum. How does this not insult a “family holiday celebration?”

There was also a GOP Club entry promoting specific politicians. That’s OK to the letter writer, but not a Democrat Club entry promoting inclusiveness?
But the most egregious politicizing of the parade was Cecil Yates campaigning for mayor (while a Council member), even though the election is many months away. Thank you, Ginny, for not campaigning during the holidays.
Maybe the letter writer somehow missed all of the GOP politics. The Democratic float was family inclusive. The GOP entries were divisive and were the ones that were truly “shameful,” to use her word.
