It’s shocking what surfaces during the political season; why’s that?
It is not true that all Sanitary District Board members have been appointed and reappointed. It is true I was appointed to fill a vacancy, after I responded to a well-publicized request to residents to submit letters of interest and qualifications. That was just last year. Why is it that today’s political candidates never showed any interest then; why now?
It is not true the District Board is a fraternal group. The truth is I had no idea who three members were until I was interviewed and I only knew the other one casually (stress is on casual). As a retired civil engineer who began my career designing wastewater systems, I believe I am qualified to serve.

It is not true the Board is “responsible to each other.” I have now served on the Board for 10 months and I can assure you that the innuendoes being spread are just pure political nonsense.
It is true the current District Manager once worked for a firm that designed many District components. But the truth also is a number of individuals were short-listed and interviewed for the position. After thoughtful deliberations, it was concluded that Dana Trompke was the most qualified to fill the position of her 30-year veteran predecessor.
Ms. Trompke and your Board oversee a 24/7/365 operation; the District never takes a holiday. Believe me, your wastewater does not just magically disappear and take care of itself once it leaves your home. The process is a very complex, technical and costly. Could more be done? Yes, but with a hefty price tag.
Managing District operations is not as simple as some political candidates portray it to be. Reski and Dudash are well-qualified incumbents. Keep in mind, this is the political season.
