The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has issued a High Pollution Advisory for today, Monday, Dec. 31, through New Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1.
Stagnant air with weather conditions not expected to change that until mid-week has prompted a forecast of particulate pollution at or exceeding air quality standards for health. Concentrations of PM2.5 particulates are expected to exceed the health standard.
The pollution advisory prompts the Maricopa County regulations that restrict wood burning, off road vehicles and leaf blowers until the air improves.
