Pony Express to ride through Fountain Hills

Annual visit returns

The Navajo County Sheriff’s Posse Pony Express will be coming into town on Thursday, Jan. 29.

The riders will be expected between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m., town Public Information Officer Mike Pelton said, and residents can pick up branded letters at town hall to fill out and send via the Pony Express. Once filled out, they can return them to the drop off location at Town Hall to be picked up by the Pony Express.

The annual ride first began in 1957, and starts in Holbrook and goes through Payson and Fountain Hills on the way to Scottsdale for the kick off of Western Week and to take part in the Parada del Sol.
