Do the people who are fighting for an aquatic center really believe that people will move to Fountain Hills if we had a public pool?
Do they not know that most homes in Scottsdale and Paradise Valley have their own pools and almost every public facility there has a pool?
We gladly drive easily 20 to 30 minutes for all of the shopping and recreation one would want. Or perhaps we need a pool here so people can play polo? I don’t question the importance of teaching the young to swim. Can that no be accomplished elsewhere? Does it have to be in one’s community?

Perhaps the pool backers should realize that the majority of residents are happy with Fountain Hills as it is. And perhaps they should read your newest series on “Why people move to Fountain Hills.” Wonder if anyone will not move here because we lack a pool? That is the silliest argument on anything that I have heard.
