Portion of FH loses power

A widespread power outage was reported in Fountain Hills on Friday afternoon. Fountain Hills Fire Department reported several alarms as a result of the outage.

Salt River Project spokeswoman Patti Garcia Likens confirmed that about 3,000 customers in Fountain Hills and Fort McDowell lost power at about 1 p.m. She said trouble shooters had gone to the area to locate the problem, but she was unsure what caused the outage.

Likens reported that backup systems had most power back on by 3:30 p.m. She said the cause may be undetermined other than equipment failure.
