Power failure hits FH Aug. 11

There were 5,270 Salt River Project customers who lost power to homes and offices mostly in Fountain Hills on Friday, Aug. 11.

SRP spokesman Scott Harelson the power went out 4:24 to 4:59 p.m. in an area between 136th Street and the Beeline Highway and one mile south of Shea Boulevard to Sunridge and Sundown drives to the north.

Harelson said a breaker for the 69,000 volt power line failed and tripped several transformers at the Wheeler Substation along Palisades Boulevard north of Shea.
