According to Superintendent Tom Lawrence, district administration is "cautiously optimistic" that the numbers will remain in FHUSD's favor.

"There are more ballots to count, so we'll see what the final results show on Friday," Lawrence said.

"I hate to try to predict what might happen but, at this point, we're hopeful that the numbers will hold. It's close and, historically, we've seen that every vote counts."

The preliminary vote totals released by the county for Fountain Hills have not changed since their initial posting just after 8 p.m. Tuesday. Other races were updated by the county around 10 p.m. Tuesday.

Provisional ballots delivered by hand to Fountain Hills Town Hall in the past couple of days won't be counted until at least Friday. Additional unofficial results likely won't be released until then.
