Presbyterians revise summer schedule
Posted
Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church senior pastor Bill Good said “there’s something for everyone at the ‘Church on the Hill’ this summer.”
Beginning Sunday, May 28, one service will be offered at 10 a.m. until Sept. 4, Labor Day, when two services will resume.
Associate pastor Ken Brown’s “Pastors’ Bible Fellowship” will move ahead one hour to 9 a.m. in the Fireside Room before the church service.
Choir rehearsals
The church has several events for children with rehearsals every Wednesday. The pre-teen age choir will practice at 4 p.m., followed by the children’s choir rehearsal led by music director Debbie Fisher at 5 p.m. in the Fellowship Center.
Bible summer school
The summer Vacation Bible School, “Maker Fun Factor, will begin at 9 a.m., Monday, July 24, and continue through Friday, July 28. Sessions will last until noon.
Bonnie Hollabaugh, one of two Christian Formation elders, said “imagine a world where curious kids become hands-on inventors, who discover they’re lovingly crafted by God.”
“Well, that’s what happens as VBS week transforms FHPC into a place buzzing with excitement and each day kids travel through field-tested rotations that reinforce relevant Bible points and immerse kids in new adventures”, said elder Terri Schmidt.
Registration is $15. Volunteers also are needed as leaders or assistants.
Grief ministry
Griever’s Journey, the church’s grief ministry, will not provide formal group sessions until the fall.
However, one-on-one sessions are available during the summer. Contact Michele to schedule an appointment at 480-313-6814 or call the church office. Grieversjourney.com can be viewed on the ministry’s website or Facebook page where inquiries can be left.
Adult class on hiatus
“The Way” Wednesday adult classes will be on hiatus for June and July, resuming in August.
