The Town Council will consider an application for a special use permit to allow a cellular communications tower near the entry to the Adero Canyon subdivision when it meets next on Tuesday, May 21.
The request is for a 40-foot simulated saguaro cactus near the welcome center at the top of the hill near the CopperWynd Resort.
Several residents of the new subdivision told the Planning and Zoning Commission in April that the lack of cellular service to the neighborhood is unacceptable.

The 40 feet exceeds the allowable height for the zoning district without a special use permit.
The council will consider a request for an $85,000 grant application from the Arizona Sports and Tourism Authority Youth and Amateur Sports grant for the addition of a basketball court for Four Peaks Park.
The council is considering its annual agreement with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control for services in the next fiscal year – July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020. The amount is $20,683.
The council will be considering an update of building codes to the 2018 International Building Codes. Electrical code is the 2017 version.
The council will also hear a status report from the Intersection/Pedestrian Safety Committee.
The council meets Tuesday, May 21, in council chambers at Town Hall beginning at 5:30 p.m.
