Priest to discuss 20 years operating Haitian orphanage
Haitian priest visit.jpg
Missionary priest Father Marc Boisvert has spent the past 20 years in Haiti where he has cared for impoverished children.
In the last year, his time has been dedicated to restoring Pwoje Espwa (Project Hope), a school and orphanage extensively destroyed by a Category 4 hurricane in October 2016. The 125-acre village in Les Cayes, Haiti, took a direct hit by Hurricane Matthew.
Boisvert is brother-in-law of Jack Reynolds, founder of Free the Kids, a fundraising organization to alleviate the effects of poverty on Haitian youth.

Boisvert will be the guest preacher at the Sunday, Oct. 29, church services. At 6 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1, he will talk about his 20 years of Haitian experiences involving abandoned, abused and orphaned children.
He started Pwoje Espwa with 15 young boys and a few teenage assistants. Espwa schools provide affordable education to more than 1,200 children.
Reynolds and Ken Brown, associate pastor of Fountain Hills Presbyterian Church and Noontime Kiwanis Club president, visited Pwoje Espwa Oct. 24-29 to start a feeding program in Camp Perrin.
