The Fountain Hills Republican Club will conclude its introduction of GOP primary candidates at its Saturday, July 19, meeting.
The meeting will begin at 9 a.m. at the Fountain Hills Community Center and will again feature the round robin format, which has proven to be popular with its members.
Candidates appearing at the meeting will be Randy Pullen, candidate for state treasurer and Doug Little and Vernon Parker, candidates for the Arizona Corporation Commission.
Pullen is former chairman of the Arizona Republican Party and served as treasurer of the Republican National Committee.
Little is former chairman of Legislative District 23 and has extensive experience in the software industry, particularly related to development and management of energy production facilities. Parker, the former mayor of Paradise Valley, is an attorney.
Little is running as a team with State Rep. Tom Forese of Chandler, and Parker is running as a team with State Rep. Lucy Mason of Prescott. Forese and Mason appeared before the Republican Club earlier in the campaign season.
Voters will be electing two new members to the commission. The commission, which is often referred to as the fourth branch of government, not only deals with corporation overview and regulation but also establishes rates for all utilities.
This will be the last meeting of the club before early balloting begins on July 31. Also appearing as part of the round robin will be School Board candidates Judith Rutkowski and Edith Stout.
Maricopa County Supervisor Steve Chucri will be giving a brief update on county news. A social evening for members and prospective new members will be held on July 29 at a business to be determined.
The primary election will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 26. A primary night social is being planned to be held at the Fireside Grill to watch the election night returns beginning at 6 p.m. More details will be announced soon.
No reservations are required for the meeting. Complimentary coffee and breakfast snacks are provided during the meet and greet period at 8:30 a.m.
