Principles

Principle: A basic fundamental truth or proposition that serves as the foundation for a system or belief or behavior or reasoning. Acting in accordance with morality and showing recognition of right and wrong.

What principles are controlling our government, culture and society today? I say none. In this election cycle we must evaluate if lying is a sound principle for being president. We must judge if anyone deserves to be above the law. We must evaluate a candidates practiced principles as they relate to our own beliefs and morality. We must determine where our liberties lie and what we’re willing to do to defend them.

It’s imperative you know your fundamental principles and base your actions on those principles. Your principles and corresponding actions will determine your future. Maybe a quote from Thomas Paine can help put things in perspective.

It’s imperative you know your fundamental principles and base your actions on those principles. Your principles and corresponding actions will determine your future. Maybe a quote from Thomas Paine can help put things in perspective.

“I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress and grow brave by reflection. Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue principles unto death.”

We’re faced with many candidates and political action committees who are unprincipled. We’re faced with many elitists with little minds and weak morals. But for now, we still have the choice to express our principles by voting and in our communications. But never forget, every time you vote and communicate your principles, there’s no guarantee you will have those same choices in the future. It only gives you the chance to fight another day. And fight we must.

Your critics are generally unprincipled cynics, skeptics and pessimists not worthy of your time. So believe in your own principles ad make them work for you to achieve your greatest happiness.

What’s your truth?
