Two public art pieces located in Centennial Circle near the library and Community Center were vandalized sometime Friday evening, Dec. 19.
The "tin man" piece had profanity and other graffiti put on it, and his back was dented. The "Waves and Windows" piece on the east side of the circle had a number of cut glass inserts broken and will need to be repaired by the original sculptor, according to Mark Mayer, Community Services Department director.
Town officials and the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office were asking citizens to report any suspicious activity or persons they may have seen in the vicinity Friday evening. MCSO can be contacted at (602) 252-7840.
