The Planning and Zoning Commission will hold a hearing and consider a recommendation on a special use permit request for a golf ball safety net for a residence at 17008 Jacklin Drive in Fountain Hills.
The permit is being requested by a contractor who is building a house on the property at this time. The contractor reports one worker being struck by a golf ball as well as damage to a vehicle at the site and walls under construction.
The netting would be 25-feet high and black, supported by poles painted black.

Staff reports the application meets the requirements for a special use permit for the safety netting.
At this session the commission will also be welcoming two new members, Susan Dempster and Roger Owers. They will also be electing a new chairman as former Chairman Lloyd Pew retired from the commission.
The election will also include naming a vice chairman, a post currently held by Commissioner Mike Archambault.
The commission will meet on Thursday, Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The meeting is open to the public.
