The Fountain Hills Planning and Zoning Commission voted 4-1 at its June 10 regular meeting to recommend the Town Council deny an application to rezone property on Indigo Drive between Emerald Drive and Kingstree Boulevard.
Neighborhood opposition and no public support was the focus of the commission’s discussion. Staff received 11 comment cards via email, all opposed, and there were four individuals who spoke against the plan from the podium.
Kirk Harr of Harr Family Homes in Fountain Hills is requesting that two lots currently zoned R1-18 for single family homes which allows for one home on each lot, be rezoned to R1-10 single family and the parcel be subdivided to allow for four single family homes. The lots combined are approximately 1.3 acres total.
