The owner of a small manufacturing company based in Fountain Hills is asking the town for some zoning clearances to enable him to expand his business at a new location.

When the Planning and Zoning Commission meets on Thursday, July 11, it will consider three requests from John Head, president of Prevco Subsea Housings, LLC.

The commission agenda includes the company’s request for approval of a concept plan, a zoning change for the new location and a special use permit to allow light product assembly in the C-3 zoning district.

Prevco currently operates its office and assembly functions at a leased facility on Technology Drive, located behind the Target store.

The company is proposing to expand its operations by acquiring property on Desert Vista at Tioga Drive. This site has formerly been used as a medical clinic and a place of worship.

The Planning and Zoning Commission meets Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in council chambers at Town Hall. The session is open to the public.
